You’re here to make things.

I’m the creative catalyst.

I’m Ayu, a lifelong creative, professional astrologer and tarot reader.

I help creatives like you* (re)connect with your vision, trust your process and instincts, build a sustainable creative practice, and finish the work you care about most—because we need your creative work out in the world.

*before you click away because you “don’t consider yourself a creative,” allow me to convince you otherwise.

These are the systems I use in my work:

(including my own proprietary frameworks that you won’t find anywhere else.)

  • The Creative Archetypes are specific embodiments of each zodiac sign’s creative energy and potential, and part of my proprietary framework for this work. Each sign has (at least) four creative archetypes, and depending on your chart, you embody some more easily than others (but they all exist inside your chart in different places!)

Working with these archetypes can help us understand the qualities of your creative nature, as well as help you to better own and embody these gifts, especially the ones that come more naturally to you.

They don’t contain or limit your creative force (LOL as if anything even could!) They exist as a mirror to deepen into what already exists within you.

  • Another one of my proprietary frameworks!

I’ve divided the creative process into four stages and have identified the archetypes we tend to embody within each stage.

The purpose of this framework is to gain clarity by locating where you are in the creative process, and how you’re embodying that stage.

  • I was an editor at a social justice magazine for six years. This experience embedded in me a sharp instinct for storytelling, creative collaboration, angle positioning, unmatched organizational skills (think: magazine wall) and, of course, editing to enhance.

  • Ah yes, you’ve heard of this one. When we work together, your birth chart is a primary source. We’ll use it to understand your unique nature (including your needs, aversions, etc.) with a special focus on your 5th house (creativity!) I also like to pull transit charts, lunar return charts, annual profections, and solar return charts, depending on what we’re doing and what you’re looking for.

  • I incorporate tarot and oracle cards in pretty much all of my work. I personally don’t use them for predicting the future.

I use card divination to give us a starting point, to ask questions we’re not able to answer ourselves, and to give us inspiration when we need it.

The cards also serve as the medium through which my own intuition comes through, so I keep them handy, and you’re welcome to ask me to incorporate them whenever you want!

Your creativity has its own signature, its own texture, its own frequency. It has its own moods and shapes and preferences.

It is so unmistakably, unapologetically unique to you. And you are in constant relationship with it, whether you consciously tap into it or not.

my manifesto values and beliefs as a creative and intuitive guide:

(aside from the obvious, like human rights for f*cking everyone.)

  • I believe that everyone has creative potential, so I don’t wanna hear anything about you not being creative, OK? Your creative energy has its own signature, its own texture, its own electric current. It has its own moods and shapes and preferences. Your creative energy is so inexorably, unapologetically unique to you. And you are in constant relationship with it, whether you feel it or not.

  • Which means you need to take care of it. I understand that’s a loaded sentence considering the politicized nature of bodies and caring for them. But at the very least, be nice to yourself!

  • Every. Damn. Time. Look - I know how much it sucks to put so much effort into something only to have it absolutely FLOP. And I’m not here to tell you that it doesn’t. BUT. Flopping shouldn’t and cannot stop us from creating. And it’s never for nothing, because we are always growing whenever we’re creating.

  • You’re not a machine, nor should you aspire to be. Your version of consistent doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s. So don’t compare yourself or judge yourself for the different ways you show up. You’re not a robot, you’re the damn ocean—and an ocean has a tide.

  • I think it’s great to have standards and make beautiful things. But I don’t think high standards and perfect executions and outcomes should be the center or driving force of what we do. When we give process the same weightiness as the outcome, the rigidness and pressure lift, creating more space for our creative flow. Also: falling in love with process has helped me dissolve my perfectionism. Jus sayin.

  • Trust your creative timing! Even if your next move isn’t the ideal one, it will eventually take you there. Keeping the energy moving (but also listening to when you need stillness) is how forge the path to your dreams.

  • Well, at least in my opinion. The moment you start creating FOR YOURSELF, for the versions of you who felt too weird or cringey to express themselves fully, that’s when the dam explodes and your creative energy just pours out of you.

Do you see yourself here?

If so, I wanna work with you.

You’re an artist, writer, and/or creative who feels overwhelmed by your project(s) and sheer volume of your ideas. You need someone to support your vision(s), collaborate with you but have zero creative control (that’s all you), and help you bring your wild ideas to life.

You’re an intuitive business owner in the process of creating offerings, lesson plans for their memberships, and/or cutting edge products and you’d like someone to support your vision and keep you accountable.

You have a brilliant creative idea but zero clue how to start executing it. You feel excited and even exhilarated—but you don’t know how to ground the vision or what it will actually take to bring this gorgeous idea to life.

You’re starting to dip your toes into new hobbies, ones that make you feel happy and excited about what you're learning and making. Awakening this side of you feels like connecting with a long lost friend, and you’re eager to learn more.

You don't consider yourself creative (I beg to differ), think you're objectively bad at making “art” (… but know how to make a beautiful loaf of bread and stunning bouquet to match) but you can sense that there’s something inside of you that wants to be understood and developed and given proper attention.

You used to have a creative practice and you LOVE making things and you know you're talented… but you've been avoiding returning to your creative work, feel guilty and ashamed about it, and then continue to avoid it (rinse + repeat, unfortch.)

“Ayu’s energy and intuition are palpable in the best way. It’s like she was reading me my life’s story! She brought clarity to ongoing patterns in my life while also helping me see new opportunities. She shines a light into the dark places (so be ready!) and leaves you feeling like maybe they were never that dark after all.”
